DIY: Flower Hair Clip!

This DIY is very simple and takes only about 30 minutes! 

Supplies needed:

*Plain hair clips

*E-6000 (Industrial Strength Adhesive)

*Silk flowers (paper flowers can be used)

*Brads (Optional)

*Clear nail polish ( I used a high-gloss top coat)

*Toothpicks

*Scrap fabric ( I used black knit fabric)


INSTRUCTIONS


I like these hair clips the best because they are easiest to use and can be used for a lot of different things :)

1. First, cut some scrap fabric to the length of your hair clip. It's okay if its slightly bigger than the clip because you can always trim the excess off later.


2. Using a toothpick, apply the adhesive to the metal hair clip along the top and then lay the fabric over it. Push the fabric slightly to make sure it will adhere.

3. Trim the excess fabric from the clip. *Note: It doesn't have to be perfect; no one is going to see this part.












4. Take your silk flowers and paint them with clear nail polish. You don't have to do this step, but the silk flowers I had were kind of dull. The top coat added a little bit of shine and deepened the color of the flowers.
5. Stack the flowers and add the brad through the center. Coat with nail polish.

Just a light coat will do.

6. Apply more adhesive on the top of the fabric and adhere the flower to the fabric. Apply pressure for 5 to 10 seconds.








Voila!
